I continued working with the new interns today and showed them how I did my work with some spread sheets and some of the files at the back.

It's monday again and I had trouble getting up.

2 new interns came in today and I was tasked to show them around the office and as an intern who is about to conclude my work here in sourceOne I was assigned to share with them some thoughts on the tasks that they are about to take on. as I reflect, I look back and I see myself in them because 4 or so weeks ago that was me being shown around the office during my first day and orientation. I was nervous and I did not know really what to expect. This day was somewhat like a passing of the torch to usher in the new interns and to usher my way out as the old intern. I look back in the past 4 weeks and I must say, This is good stuff!

I also helped organize the archive files today.

A good thing about going to work everyday is that I get to ride the subway on my way to work. Because of that I have learned how to read the subway map and now almost all of New york City is now accessible to me. I can now travel and explore by myself without the fear of being stranded somewhere without any clue what to do. By this time I'd like to think that I've got the hang of this thing(my OJT). I am comfortable with the people because I see them almost everyday except when they're out on the field or whatever, and I think that I can learn a lot more this way because now I am not too shy to ask questions about the work I'm doing and I think this makes me more efficient. Besides the daily tabulating and gathering of data that I perform I also take pride in organizing the archives in the shelves in the back of the office. The once jungle of scattered papers and folders and other stuff is now neatly organized and returned to their rightful place. One thing that doesn't seem to go away is the fatigue though. working 8:30-5:00 will surely take its toll on anyone no matter what line of work they're into.

TGIF! There was a big meeting today in the conference room. Apparently the company is being sought out to be purchased by a certain group of investors. I didn't put much thought or concern for that since I figured I'd probably be long gone before they take over so I just made it a point to look presentable and to tidy up my work station just in case they decide to take a look around.

It's been a very very busy week, this is mainly because we're trying to catch deadlines for the clients and this is just driving my supervisor absolutely crazy. Posting on the journal slipped my mind the other day and then the other times I just don't have the time to stop and gather my thoughts this is truly living life in the fast lane. 8:30-5:00 goes by pretty fast when you are pressed with time.

I didn't have time to post yesterday and I barely have any time to post today. I've been so swamped with all the work that its been so hard to find time but I won't miss posting for a second consecutive day. I've been working 3 companies as of late, Durst, Stuyvesant, and NYU. Aabcey, my supervisor, provided me with worksheets and billing data where I basically have to make sure is consistent with one another by comparing them and by tracking down the information and values to the very last decimal point and this is just taking so much time. Yesterday I was asked to help deliver a package to a big building a few blocks from my office. I welcomed the assignment because of the beautiful weather outside and the chance to stretch my legs a bit. After that I went back to my worksheets.

Today is another lovely day outside although I didn't get assignments to deliver stuff today. I continued with my worksheets and after that was through I helped with a little of the filing which took a lot of time as well. Now I understand more or else why time is gold. One more day to go before the weekend... TGIF!

I came in at around 8:20am today and I am still very tired due to the lack of sleep. I worked on some billing data today, I handled daily reports on prices of electricity of a certain client of SourceOne. After I did that for around two hours I spent most of my time in the office helping Harshana, one of our project engineers, filling out a worksheet with data about a project he was handling. The data about utility instruments and stuff and how much energy they use and so on.

First Day

I woke up this morning and read an email from Ma'am telling me that my practicum will be valid. So although I've been working with Source 1 for the past few days now this will officially count as my first day being an intern for PoS 70. My supervisor came in late today due to some business he had to attend to but never the less I had my work cut out for me today because I had to do some research about this client my supervisor was working on. In addition to the company research, I also helped out with keeping the office organized and with that I mean filing and labeling. It was a slow day but it was good because it's only monday and it's never good to start off too fast during the first work day. Schola Brevis?
